Raining Cats and Doggerel

ele zoo
AnElephantCant consort with the crowd
He doesn’t have that sort of mentality
They say birds of a feather
All hang out together
Or some variation of that strange verbality

Most animals you find in a collection
But AnElephant is on the outside
Hedgehogs gather in an array
Pheasants like flowers in a bouquet
And Lions unsurprisingly strut about in a pride

Starlings do their thing in a murmuration
Emus and Kangaroos bound around in a mob
Tigers in an ambush
A gaggle for a Goose
And proverbially Bulls in a China Shop

Meeces squeak in a mischief or colony
Possibly to avoid a kettle of Hawks
Gnats float in a cloud
Over a hover of Trout
And predictably in a skulk is the Fox

Like the Cat in the story by Kipling
AnElephant often walks by himself
Because Wolves in a pack
A knot of Snakes in a sack
He evades for the sake of his health

The question is often asked of AnElephant
And you may find his answer absurd
Unlike a murder of Crow
Or a gang of Buffalo
He thinks that Pachyderms should be seen and not herd!
