AnElephantCant keep working forever
He is no longer a shaker and mover
He is lucky no doubt
He gets to chill out
In the beautiful city of Vancouver
That’s the one in BC up in Canada
All inlets and lots of great bridges
He looks over a marina
If you’ve ever been there
This place is cooler than the coolest of fridges
He stays in an hotel on an island
He travels across water when he wants to sightsee
You all must know it
When you get on a boat
You are officially on holiday
AnElephant sees a tree on a rooftop
Is it there so birds can safely lay eggs
Or could it just be
Up here in BC
That the dogs have really really long legs
He walks around the shoreline for pleasure
He meets a man who carves things out of rock
Ancestors from Glencoe*
A man of talent so
No surprise that his given name is Jock
He meanders through Stanley Park for hours
A wondrous place on a clear winter day
Heron duck and squirrel
A raccoon gives him a twirl
And thousands of birds whose names he can’t say
So day one of his trip to Vancouver
Clear skies and people so sweet
AnElephant is thrilled
By this part of the world
He thinks Canada and Canadians are neat
*Glencoe, a village in the Scottish Highlands, famous for a massacre in 1692.
