AnElephantCant describe the pleasures he finds
As he rambles round downtown Vancouver
Surrounded by mountains
It has really cool fountains
He wishes for once that his words could be smoother
The morning skies light up his eyes
Dawn breaks over his marina
So bright and sharp
Uplifts his heart
The air could not be cleaner
He meanders happily through Gastown
A wonderful place for a walk
To his great delight
He spots this astonishing sight
A functioning steam powered clock
He visits the famous Coal Harbour
With spectacular views to the north
Tankers and orange cranes
He watches seaplanes
Skimming the waves before taking off
Everywhere your Elephant looks
He sees marvellous creations
Totems of wood
Sculptures so good
The art of the people who are the First Nations
The city is a gallery of artwork
Many highs and very few lows
It nurtures his spirit
He has no words for it
There is beauty wherever he goes
He strolls across the Granville Bridge
For AnElephant a challenging manoeuvre
He loves the views
He sings the blues
He will be sad to leave Vancouver
The Aloofer Vancouver Manoeuvre

I agree with Roxi, What gorgeous photographs. The verses are fun and clever (as usual) and the clock is just way cool! 🙂

AnElephantCant deny he is happy
When Roxi and Penny agree
The clock was so cool
Though steam is hot as a rule
So you could use it for a nice cup of tea

Merci.

He tells Emmy again

Excellent poem to go with marvellous photos. I have (had) a relative who lives (lived) in Canada and it was somewhere I contemplated thinking.

AnElephantCant claim any credit
For the photos he shows on this blog
In such a beautiful city
The views are so pretty
It’s as easy as falling off a log

What good is a blog without AnElephantCant
Hear the Lady’s Sighs
Perhaps he will visit very soon
‘Twould be a nice surprise
His floppy ears just like a fan
Would keep her nice and cool
Curled in the warmth of his trunk
Well she always was a fool
A little cautious warning though
Her blog he best not clutter
Or he’ll get no peanuts there
Only peanut butter

He just toots and says whee hee
This pachyderm chappy
Is now oh so happy
He has finally heard from his sweetheart Meme

But he has just one problem you see
From the very start
His romantic old heart
Has belonged to that delectable songstress Meme

AnElephantCant tell you how impressed he is
Well maybe he can in a rhyme
But what is a shock
That lovely steam clock
Actually tells the correct Pacific Time
