AnElephantCant stop marvelling at clouds
They come in all shapes and sizes
Small white and fluffy
Big dark and huffy
And man they are full of surprises
They can open up and hit you with a deluge
You are soaked through before you can sneeze
A torrential downpour
12 inches or more
You are suddenly in water right up to your knees
Or perhaps it is quite black and gloomy
Depressingly dark and menacingly low
You can probably say
That by the next day
You can go out and frolic in fresh snow
The worst kind are those that do nothing
They don’t drop enough moisture to dampen a thistle
It’s hardly a smirr*
Won’t wet a cat’s fur
AnElephant would rather endure a respectable drizzle
In Scotland they blow in from Siberia
Across Poland and over the North Sea
They bring sleet without fail
And sore icy hail
And Elephant prefers to skirmish with bees
It’s best when you lie in the sunshine
Trying to work out the shapes in the sky
A doggie a bunny
A crocodile made of honey
And a white Elephant skipping happily on high
No heffalumps in the sky here-another dreich day. Love the photos aswell. Dont think I’ve seen one of Edinburgh Castle from that angle before.

Even when far away over the seas
When dark clouds are low
And there is drizzle also
He tries to blow them away with a sneeze

Oh I think I see a white elephant in the picture!
I love ‘gloomy depressingly dark and menacingly low’ clouds. I know I am weird, but I find them very soothing for my soul! I loved this poem and the pictures. Thank you.

AnElephantCant disagree
With someone as erudite as lilyboat
Dark clouds can bring cheer
But not 12 months of the year
Occasionally it’s cool to see a wee white one float

About clouds it makes Emmy
Grin. Today, she has to tell,
Tiny sheep floated in her sky.

AnElephantCant contradict Emmy
Even when she spots sheep in the sky
But was it not the moon
Or perhaps a balloon
He has never seen a baa-baa flying high

Wasn’t a balloon,
wasn’t the moon
More than one sheep
In blue knee-deep.

Those are beautiful photographs, I agree with you, so many different natures to clouds, and shapes, sizes and colors also! Just lovely!

Can she please learn the correct spelling for ‘colour’
