AnElephantCant leave wonderful Washington
Without a visit to the East side of the State
If truth be told
It is kinda cold
But the buildings and street art are great
The first thing that he plans to do here
Is teach the foreigners how to pronounce Spokane
So hear what he’s sayin’
It does not rhyme with pain
It surprisingly sounds just like caravan or marzipan or Kazakhstan you understand
AnElephant is now quite delighted
He goes for a stroll before dark
He is immediately lucky
Sees gooses and duckies
In the imaginatively named Riverfront Park
He ambles along in the sunshine
His ears twinkle when they hear nature’s calls
Areas of tranquillity
Bridges with suspendability
He sees the magnificent Spokane River Falls
The downtown area of the city is marvellous
Statues and street art abound
Some buildings are old
They’re a joy to behold
AnElephant wanders happily around

Pedestrian Suspension Bridge over the Spokane River and Street Art in the Riverfront Park, Spokane, WA
There is only one teeny disappointment
The Spokane Falls SkyRide is closed
He would be serious trouble
High in the sky in a bubble
He suspects he wouldn’t get on unopposed
His visit here is quite a short one
But he is totally impressed by Spokane
So much to see and to do
You must agree this is true
It is much easier to get to than Afghanistan

Thank you, but in a place with so much great artwork and such natural beauty it is quite easy to find photogenic subjects.

Everywhere you have visited has made me want to visit there. If I had the money, I would retrace your journey. The sights look positively splendid

AnElephant has been fortunate enough to visit some beautiful cities. And so clean and litter-free compared to the UK.

It’s about time this country was stronger on the cleanliness. When I went to Germany 1981 I couldn’t believe how tidy that was. It was amazingly nice and litter free.
