AnElephantCant stay any longer
For the past 12 weeks he aimlessly roams
Up and down the West Coast
Delighting his hosts
But the time comes when he must return home
He has enough memories to last several lifetimes
Enough friends to enrich twenty hearts
Eighty plus wonderful nights
And days filled with delights
Now he returns to the place it all starts
San Francisco is where his trip begins
Back in December those three months ago
He visits Seattle Washington
Portland Oregon
Spokane and Coeur d’Alene Idaho
He loves Vancouver BC up in Canada
He walks the banks of the Columbia River
Willamette and Snake
And make no mistake
There are people he remembers forever
So now he has to unlearn a language
But he is never one to complain
No more calls on
His throwaway cell phone
He just uses his mobile again
He packs his trunk and boards a jumbo
This is how his trans-Atlantic adventure ends
He has a tear in his eye
As he waves goodbye
With a mammoth thank you to all his North American friends
So although he is here for 3 months
It seems he hardly has time to unpack
To the wondrous US of A
He has nothing else to say
Except will you please invite him back?
So long and thanks for all the peanuts!
Welcome to Canda, again. A Lady is sorry she missed your visit, as she does not live in BC…..as much as she would love to.

Ah, now AnElephant does not need a visa for Canada.
He may be tempted …….

It has been a vicarious adventure to follow you wherever you took us. It was a joy to share your puzzlements and wonder through your poetry and pictures. So here is a big merci from Emmy who never got to see Vancouver, Seattle, Portland or Coeur d’Alene with her eyes, but did the next best thing: seeing those great places with AnElephant’ s heart.

Have you seen the weather up here?
But thanks again.

The weather down here is just as grim! Even when the rest of the country had “Spring” on Tuesday, we only had half an hour of sunshine
But home is still home!
All the best as the rain hits my window and I go off to find my wellies to go out….

Gosh, you’ve brought back so many memories of a similar trip I made in the mid seventies when i was 22. East coast, route 66, then west coast up to Vancouver Island. It’s always good to get back home to the Highlands though. I love your photos.Thanks.

Well, you are way too kind here!
The bonus is that Scotland is trying frantically to deport the poor Elephant!
