Rhyming Simon met a Pieman

Nursery Rhyme Sheep by Phil Burns

Nursery Rhyme Sheep by Phil Burns

AnElephantCant always behave himself
He upsets Mummy time after time
When he should be home
He continues to roam
And finds he is lost in a Nursery Rhyme

He rides a Cock Horse to Banbury Cross
With rings on his fingers and bells on his toes
Then with Jack and Jill
He goes up the hill
And tumbles down as everyone knows

Mary Mary is quite contrary
No surprise she is a woman of course
Humpty Dumpty
Asks Who bumped me
But can’t be put together by the King’s Man or his Horse

AnElephant sits in a corner with Little Miss Muffet
And on a tuffet with Little Jack Horner
He hears that Bo Peep
Has lost a whole flock of sheep
But he is clearly too muddled to warn her

Mary Mary has a little Lamb
And contrariness in heaps
Things get much worse
See the previous verse
Is Mary’s sheep really Bo Peep’s?

AnElephantCant help thinking
Little Boy Blue should blow his horn
But not a cheep
He is fast asleep
Baa Baa Black Sheep and the others have gone

AnElephant has just now noticed
Nursery Rhymes have quite a preoccupation with livestock
But he prefers them to meeces
Which he still hates to pieces
Even the Three Blind Mice who run up the clock Hickory Dickory Dock

Dear AnElephantCant…who hears Who’s in Who’s Ville or you related to The good Dr. Seuss?
you’ve given me a grin extending from ear to ear. You’ve reminded me of times when my D.O.D. (Dear Ole Dad) would tell me ‘Fractured Fairy Tales’. Though I haven’t any of them written… Sometimes when he told ’em, Goldie Locks, well, she didn’t always win. Or Little Red might have met a different fate…

Thanks too for ‘those other links’ which I’ll visit on the morrow. I did figure out what I did on the one site…so your comments shouldn’t disappear when visiting ‘Gemstones’.

    Hickory Dickory Dock
Three mice ran up the clock
    The clock struck one
The other two got away with minor injuries
