Carousels and Rainbows

The Magic of a Carousel

The Magic of a Carousel

AnElephantCant always remember
The pictures that dance in his head
He is speaking of dreams
Those flakes of moonbeams
That visit him at night in his bed

Sometimes he awakes and can feel them
Hiding shy in the corners of the night
Are they playing hide and seek
Allowing almost a peek
But staying forever just out of his sight

They tantalise him with their nearness
They slide under or behind the dark
When he starts to feel
They are not quite real
He sees the shadow of a day in the park

Then in his mind he visits grey places
Where he walks in his youth with old friends
But like a butterfly’s intent
They are soft transient
The fog once more gently descends

He dreams of a carousel and a rainbow
Of wonderful places unknown
But crowds pass him by
Like the clouds in the sky
And as always he is left all alone

He recalls life-changing conversations
Great wisdom remains sadly unsaid
And when the night’s almost done
He glimpses the sun
And ephemerally walks by the Med

For that fraction of all time he is happy
His toes feel sand and the kiss of the sea
He is once more a child
Carefree running wild
He dreams of Mummy and how things used to be

Qu’il est beau ce poeme! Plein de phrases poetiques si emouvantes et touchantes qu’il est difficile de s’arreter de le relire. Vraiment magnifique. J’aime beaucoup l’expression “flakes of moonbeams”. C’est beau comme un reve. Et ” His toes feel sand and the kiss of the sea” j’adore.
Et bien sur l’image est tres belle. Cela donne envie de retourner en enfance, n’est-ce pas?
