The Loch Ness Elephant
AnElephantCant deny he is ancient
That thought does not make him euphoric
He may have the odd wrinkle
But his eye has a wee twinkle
He refuses to be prehistoric
He plans to tell no mammoth fibs here
In fact he intends to be purely factual
He talks for a while
About a flying reptile
Which you probably call a pterodactyl
There are ups and downs in life as a caveman
He has to keep well clear of Tyrannosaurus Rex
With only a club
He catches the whole family’s grub
But at least he doesn’t pay Income Tax
In times gone by there are Sabre Tooth Pigeons
Or is it Tigers that keep trying to gnaw us
There are Raptors galore
To tear cave dudes to gore
And the one-eyed DoYouThinkHeSawUs
Neanderthal Man is so strong but quite dumb
He has not yet invented the phone
He is very brave
And lives in a cave
Not a nice house like TV’s Fred Flintstone
Now here is one fact you should know about Scotland
You are always a most welcome guest
We won’t make you eat haggis
We are not big braggers
But the last dinosaur still lives in Loch Ness
I think Nessie is real, but then I believe in tooth fairies too (after a fashion). I’m playing catch up today with your posts. Haven’t been visiting as much as I should. 🙂

Fun read. I think I might have met a modern relation of the DoYouThinkHeSawUs when a NoSeeUm bit me a few years back.

Comme je crois aux farfadets
Aux sirènes et aux licornes
Un jour peut être je verrai
Nessie jouer dans son Loch
Si je rencontre un Ecossais.

Then pop along to Loch Ness and just tell her AnElephant sent you.
She will be delighted to see you, honest!

AnElephant gives us a good lesson
On dinosaurs throughout history
But I can’t even guess
Of the beast of Loch Ness
Whether it is real to me is a mystery

Oh, Nessie is real. I live by the loch but sadly have not yet seen her, even though I had to travel 18 miles along it every day for school. (A long time ago! )

AnElephantCant tell a lie here
So he will just give you three guesses
Neither Tooth Fairy or Santa
Or Unicorns at the canter
Are more real than the magical Nessie
