AnElephantCant remember when
He last spent a day quite so perfect
To his great surprise
He has just realised
That is a synonym and a great rhyme for Jack
We spend the afternoon in Queens Park
Where the grass and the trees are still brown
The buds have not bloomed
Spring is looking quite doomed
Summer is still a long way from this town
But we go to the pond and see tadpoles
Just starting to emerge from their eggs
We call this frog spawn
And when they are born
These little dudes don’t have any legs
A moorhen is nesting on the island
We can’t see if she has any chicks
So we take great care
Not to give her a scare
We stay well away with our sticks
But these sticks of course are not ornamental
We have a competition to see who can throw farther
AnElephant flings a great flung
But because Jack is young
Outdoing him gets weekly much harder
Now late afternoon is Ice Cream time
Jack has Chocolate Biscotti with Raspberry Sauce
And a chocolate flake
AnElephant makes no mistake
He counts Banoffee towards his 5 a day of course
AnElephantCant have an original thought
So he repeats this one time after time
If you want to have fun
Just get a grandson
And fill your lives with laughter and rhyme
Love this. Please can we have an update when the flowers start to show? Hopefully Jack won’t want to pull all their heads off.

As a rhyme it may be rubbish, but it makes the point!
Thank you.

Emmy too has a grandson named Jack
A little bit older but just as perfect
He is too far away that one
Do you know if I could rent one
For the many chuckles
And all the snuggles
I miss from Alabama?

AnElephantCant really help Emmy
It isn’t easy to rhyme Alabama
Oh he just has a thought
He translates from the Scots
And guesses your wee dude is also a brammer
brammer – something really good, very special

Another great one-I dont know how you do it! Jack is going to have such precious memories. He’s very lucky to have a grandad like you. Some grandads don’t bother.

AnElephant does enjoy his day out
It sounds like he’s having a lark
But when he gets home
Is he tired to the bone
And does he go out like a spark?

AnElephantCant deny he is puggled
When he has a day out with Jack
But when he is there
He hasn’t a care
He can’t wait until he’s asked to go back
