AnElephantCant do the Danse Macabre
He decides to abandon that genre
To lighten the mood
He feels that he should
Do a twirl and sing a silly wee song
See here for Alastair’s Blog, the picture below is this week’s prompt.
Roof with a View
Her smile is radiant.
How did you find this place, darling, you are so clever!
He smiles back at his new bride, perhaps less sincerely.
Friend of a friend, you know. It pays to have contacts.
She is thrilled.
What a wonderful view, the clouds are so beautiful!
His smile grows wider
Yes, my sweet. And from over here you can see France.
Pointing across the Channel, he guides her to the edge, his hand in the small of her back.
She claps her hands, leans forward.
Ooh, yes, I am so excited, I can picture Paris already!
The pressure on her back increases.
He thrusts his hand forward abruptly.
She is no longer there.
He lurches forward in surprise, turning his head to where she now stands.
He is already falling towards the rocks, sixty feet below.
Her smile is radiant.
How did you find this place, darling, you are so clever!

I did not see that she would be even more devious than he! Love to be surprised by an ending…kudos for creating such a thorough misdirection in so few words!

I prefer to think the female lead in the story is someone who collects souls of men with evil intentions, while posing as a naive woman >:)

Moral of the story….never, EVER betray a woman who has a radiant smile? 😛

A hint of a double helix twisty plot.. You are so clever opening and ending on a radiant smile, closing the web you wove. Vraiment tres bonne cette petite histoire. Bravo encore une fois.

Oh, I think we went to similar places…a woman scorned and all that…
And here I thought you were keeping things ‘light’.
Fun read, indeed.

Ah, well, this pretty lady was not so much scorned as getting her retaliation in first!
But glad you enjoyed.
Oh, and AnElephant tells porkies, sorry!
