AnElephantCant quite believe it
He just has another great day
This time you see him
In Kelvingrove Museum
And Park where he and Jack go to play
The museum is a Victorian marvel
Chock-a-block with amazing stuff
Antlers reaching so high
A Spitfire up in the sky
A Ceratosaur and a model woolly Mammoth
The hall houses a huge Lewis Pipe Organ
Which is being played while they have their lunch
This delightful recital
Ends with Jack’s forthrightful
Come on or we’ll miss a whole bunch
They always have time for the monkeys
And the giraffe with those legs quite absurd
They see art and sculpture
A big scary vulture
And the giant egg of the Elephant Bird
They check out the birds and the insects
And the hive with real live working bees
Artefacts past and present
Jack absorbs all the info with ease
Then homewards along the banks of the river
AnElephant’s Alma Mater overlooks the sweet Kelvin
Some ducks and a swan
A Grey Heron in the pond
And of course ice cream to finish a day out in heaven
Loved the photos your blog covered a lot very varied in a good way
Thanks, Paul, some days are what life is for, and what memories are made of.
Fabulous museum, full of the wonders of our world.
An elephant bird was for real!
Great Scot, what a marvellous lot
Mu see, um, in Museum deal –
Fantastical things it has, Scot!
AnElephant knows too well
Some things he should not think
Like what is the funny smell
AnElephant Bird extinct!
Sounds like a great time! And of course… cannot forget the ice cream… the best part! 😉 hugggs
Mmmmm, AnElephant likes ice cream!
Next time you visit Portland, I will personally take you out for ice cream my friend 🙂
Yummy, AnElephant had Apple Pie flavour this week!
Sounds like a fun field trip! Glad they didn’t try to keep you – mistaking you as one of their elephant type models trying to escape the museum 😉
Thanks RoSy, it was a great day out!
What an incredibly gorgeous building, much less the artifacts. This is a museum I would happily be lost in. It looks like spring is actually coming in over there. I’m glad this was a day that the two of you could fully enjoy both indoors and out! As always your words convey the fulsome experience and joy of spending the day with your favorite young man! 🙂 xx
It is indeed a magnificent building, Victorian splendour at its best.
It might be spring but it is still jolly cold!
AnElephant and Jack on another day out
Seems they had a great day of fun
A museum is a place
To keep a smile on your face
And trip that you can never be glum.
Great photos my friend. Glad you explained what the Ceratosaur was 🙂 And that’s a gorgeous river
