The Loom – Alastair’s Photo Fiction

AnElephantCant help being late here
He arrives with the speed of a snail
He does not mean to annoy
But he has to employ
Some cool threads to weave his intricate tale

This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by good ol’ Al.

The Loom

Wow, a magic loom, how exciting!
Yes, it takes your exact measurements and weaves the finest silk suit to fit your body perfectly.
And what will this cost me?
Just one of your amazing beans, Jack.
That sounds great! You have a deal.
You are a smart boy, you have always been quick to spot a bargain.
The townsfolk say that I am stupid and that you are a wicked witch!
They are foolish little people. Just sit on there.
Like this?
Perfect. One hand on here, the other over there.
Like that?
And your feet there and there. Are you comfortable?
Yes, thank you, ma’am, very comfortable, but what are the straps for?
You don’t want to move and spoil things, do you?
What is that wheel for?
It lets me tighten everything just the way I like it.
That is a little too tight now!
(C-rack!)

Poor Jack. So much for adventures on the beanstalk. Any chance the witch is working for the Giant? Great story.

Well alrighty then, I will definitely not be going there for a ‘fitting’! Great story, nice ‘twist’ on a couple of classics. Witches (in mythology) are so wicked some times! Well written, and as always I really enjoyed reading your words! 🙂 xo

    • Sometimes it is fun to mess with the old tales, as you have done yourself to great effect.
The wicked witch may be a bit of a cliche, but she can still be fun.
And anyone who swaps his cow for beans is, as we say here, a pure numpty who deserves all he gets!
      Thank you for popping by.

I love this. You get the description of everything is there in the conversation, including who they are. Cracking story 😉
