AnElephantCant stay here forever
The time is right for his next crazy move
He is taking a chance
And heading for France
Although he doesn’t expect to visit Le Louvre
He knows it is hard to leave Scotland
But he won’t go as far as the moon
Both readers who know him
Can expect a poem
Which he plans to publish here very soon
He plans to migrate south next Thursday
And point his trunk towards the Chunnel
He hopes to be seeing
His sweet buddy Leanne
And maybe pop into Dover for fun Al?
After crossing he will drift at his leisure
He is once again free and footloose
He will try to be funny
Describing petit dejeuner
Of frogs legs and croissants and orange juice
His goal is a zoo near the seaside
Way down there in sunny Provence
Where he can find peace
Get some sun on his knees
Write some tales and a few wee chansons
In the meantime he is temporarily homeless
So he seeks the kindness of un ami
He heads for the Med
In search of a bed
Do you have plenty of cacahuetes Emmy?
Good luck with the move and finding somewhere new to unpack your trunk.

“…Fun al…” as in funnel cake (the hungry part of me is dreaming funnel cake as that is one think I associate with vacations…) have ‘fun’ al~

AnElephantCant quite close his suitcase
It appears to be quite chock-a-block
He wrinkles his brow
He is quite worried now
Will he have to abandon his grandfather clock?

Do let us know when you are settled.
Moving can be a pain in the trunk.
So be careful, and enjoy your ‘new’ stomping grounds.

An Elephant’s going to enhance
His experiences over in France?
Les poemes, they’ll still rhyme
Though moving takes time
And I’ll wish you a friendly “Bonne chance!”

AnElephantCant stop writing about Scotland
That is pretty much all that he knows
But when he gets to France
He may learn to dance
The can-can so anything goes!
