Across the loch into the glen
Settling low on hillside heather
The morning mists moisten his eyes
Brush his heart like snow white feather
This love he knows
Will never go
Leaving Scotland forever
Across one more majestic bridge
Into the sleeping city centre
Soft drizzle falls like angels’ tears
A fitting start to this adventure
This doubt he knows
Will never go
Leaving Scotland forever
And she looks from a window there
With no more words to say
She too breaks slowly from within
As she sadly turns away
The lowlands pass beneath him now
The rolling hills abandoned
The verdant slopes are dull and grey
With sorrow and with chagrin
This ache he knows
Will never go
Leaving Scotland forever
You certainly won’t miss the cold….. and probably you will visit again, not for living but visiting. 🙂

Scotland won’t let you do the ‘forever’ bit, unless you prematurely step in front of whatever one calls a bus in French, or something

You can go back and visit can’t you…?
Safe travels – do send a note as to where your settling.
Take the time you need. I’ve moved too much when I was younger.
I’ve been told that in the average of six months time you’ll feel somewhat at ease.

There’s always that feeling of blues when leaving somewhere that you visit & have enjoyed. And – who knows…MAYBE one day you’ll go again.

To the neighbouring England
With a lump in the throat
Heart sinks faster than quicksand
This heart we know
Will never go
Scotland will miss you forever
