AnElephant Shadow Dancing with the Prettiest Girl in England

AnElephant Shadow Dancing with the Prettiest Girl in England

AnElephantCant stay too long in Englandshire
But there is always one thing he does there
Just for a wee while
He smiles his smiliest smile
Because he visits the people he loves there

He is persuaded to go for a bicycle ride
Well you know that he is somewhat random
He is an also ran
When he races Leanne
He wishes that they had a tandem

They stop to lob stones in the Channel
And do a cool dance with their shadows
Up on the sea wall
Taking care not to fall
The water is too cold for a paddle

Deal Pier, Deal Castle, Deal from the Pier

Deal Pier, Deal Castle, Deal from the Pier

On Saturday they all go for din-dins
AnElephant has to keep up his strength
They say fromage not cheese
S’il vous plait for please
It amuses him that the restaurant is French

They take a long walk on the Sunday
A posh gymkhana is right on their way
Wearing jodhpurs not furs
Of course on a horse
It is fun to watch the English at play

His friend departs early on Monday
Before AnElephant puts on his socks
So his wonderful wife
Who lights up everyone’s life
Takes AnElephant and his trunk to the docks

There is a poem here that I can’t resist
AnElephant went from me in Dover, to Deal
    To see people he friended
That was great, and it ended
With going to the end of the pier for a meal
