AnElephantCant live without smiles
He doesn’t think that anyone should
They put a gleam in his eye
Like cream on apple pie
They epitomise everything good
Every smile makes somebody happy
It brightens each recipient’s day
It makes your feelings clear
Tells someone you care
And chases those dark clouds away
A smile is like strawberries in springtime
A smile is like sun shining through rain
Like a pup’s wagging tail
Or a yacht’s flapping sail
A butterfly landing on that same flower again
There is nothing that gladdens the heart more
Than a child’s face when he gets his nose kissed
AnElephant is shy
But you know he’s the guy
With the smile lurking behind his proboscis
The book and the song say that a smile is certain
AnElephant is not sure about that
Some are inclined
To linger behind
Like the famous one of the Cheshire Cat
AnElephant has wandered far from his homeland
But there is one thing that always draws him back
It’s that one special smile
That makes his life worthwhile
And lights up the face of his beautiful Jack
Il y a des sourires qui nous font perdre tous nos moyens.
Un certain sourire peut etre irresistible et en invite un autre.
Tres beau ce blog. Tu me fais sourire.
It is Jack who keeps the smile alive on anelephant’s face. A lovely write-up
Do you have any other grandchildren other than Jack??!!
C’mon, Ches, is there never a clue in what I write?
He is the only apple of AnElephant’s eye.
And he can be quite a lot of grandchildren!
Wonderful, and I totally agree, there is no life without smiling…… keep on smiling!
A special smile from a special person you love is even better!
Thanks, Ute, you are so right about that.
Good to see you here.
Should be printed, framed and sent to mama as a momento for later years. I think there is a young man who would love to have it! 🙂 xx
You are too kind as always, but thank you for those words.
We have been talking on Skype, so distance is not so problematic nowadays.
I am very happy to hear you guys are Skyping, how very excellent for both of you! Just great, makes my day hearing this Brian!
Sweet & loving. A smile from someone you love will always keep you home or close to home 🙂
Quite far away,RoSy, but not too far to visit soon.
Glad you liked it.
I love your poem. There’s nothing to match a smile from your grandson! Beautiful photos of AnElephant and Jack.
Thank you, m’lady, just happy that you enjoyed it.
And that smile does it every time!
That made me smile 🙂
