The fruits of the Mediterranean

He prefers to chilling out on the beach
But when it comes to his tummy
Your scribe is no dummy
He thinks the best thing in the world is a peach

Apricots and nectarines are deliciousful
AnElephant loves these and lots of other fresh fruit
But this is the truth
When he sinks his tooth
Into a peach his trunk curls and says toot toot

They are kinda furry and strange on the outside
With a texture that is hard to explain
But when he takes a bite
It is total delight
As refreshing as dancing in warm summer rain

AnElephantCant understand all the colours
They may well be the little dude’s natural camouflage
But on the inside
The flavour can’t hide
It is like discovering an oasis is not a mirage

If you match it with a soft tangy goat’s cheese
You are approaching the ultimate in bliss
But if not in a hurry
Slice it with a strawberry
This combination is as sweet as a kiss

And here is one last tip from your epicurean expert
To prove he’s not dumb although he is often quite dozy
To taste paradise
Just cut a nice slice
And savour it slowly with a wee sip of rosé
