The Lane – Alastair’s Photo Fiction

AnElephantCant always access the interweb
He has problems galore with his broadband
But he isn’t too glum
It could be his bum
Which is numb from sitting so long in the sand

This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Follow the link to see some great stories by some great writers.
But they are not funny as AnElephant’s hilarious little piece.
Prepare to hurt you sides laughing!

The lane

He wanders up the little back road at midnight, smiling to himself as the dog smells every lamp post, every wall, every tree.
The sky is dark, so the stars are sparkling.
His world is a beautiful and serene place.
Then something catches his attention.
Is it a noise, a light, a movement?
He is not sure.
He can just see over the gate which is shaped so that it dips in the middle.
He sees the leg being folded into the boot.
And he looks in stunned disbelief as the man turns towards him and picks up a second evil-looking sword with its long curved blade already dripping blood.
