AnElephantCant always be creative
Sometimes he just runs out of words
For the second time this week
He is in a tight squeak
Once again he must write a tale about birds
This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Follow the link to see a nest of great stories by some great writers.
But please read AnElephant’s short piece first.
It may just get your heart all a-flutter!

Hi, Peter.
Hi, Paul.
Hi, Mary.
Don’t interrupt her, Paul, she is rehearsing that new song I wrote about a Dragon.
Okay, so what’s happening here.
Bored. Just watching an old movie.
Do you still miss the old days when you guys had to work?
Sure do.
But wasn’t it dangerous?
Yep, but exciting! Carrying messages to the front line while the enemy attacked us with war planes!
Did they shoot at you?
No, they threw cats at us! What do you think?
I think you are bats!
Now those guys can fly a bit. Can’t see much, but all that sonar stuff, way more sophisticated than us!
So what’s the movie? Some old lovey dovey thing, I bet.
Nope, but good line!
Oh, tell me you are not watching that same one again!
Yep, my favourite, Alfred Hitchcock.
Psycho?
No, you feather-brained fool. The Birds!
Birdbrains are entertaining. While I’m stuck in saga modes. Do feel free to visit any other fiction that strikes your fancy. 🙂

Saga modes?
What does that mean?
Are you okay, Jules?

To be honest (really!) AnElephant overheard the conversation, so no imagination required.
But happy you liked it!

AnElephant tells really good stories
They come out in what seems like a smidgen
In less than a week
There were two with a beak
And I love this story about pigeons

AnElephantCant tell any more stories
About anything with feathers and wings
He is fed up with birds
He has no more words
So he is just going to use *&^%$£ and things

Music mixed with Hitchcock….very entertaining as always AnElephant 🙂 (I want it noted I avoided making a reference such as “it’s gone to the birds”…)
