AnElephantCant hide his impatience
His trigger finger is itching and twitching
He is ready today
Because that is his way
Just in case Al decides to show us more pesky pigeons
This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Follow the link to see some statuesque stories.
But please read AnElephant’s stonewall certainty first.
Oh, and he likes this pic, because it means that for a change he is not the ugliest dude on the screen!
The Courtyard
I am standing in the courtyard of my palatial home, enjoying the autumn sunshine.
It is quite interesting to take part in this experiment, to be among the first to test this new device.
It is supposed to record your thoughts digitally, allowing them to be played back exactly as you hear them in your head.
So I really must try to think more coherently.
That wretched statue, I never liked it, ugly brute of a thing.
Probably not what they want!
Focus on the others here.
Six, no seven, men.
They seem well organised, at any rate.
All wearing hats to shield their eyes, apart from the one standing alone, looking at me.
I should focus on his words, that is the key issue here.
Children of the Revolution!
Ready.
Aim.
Fi ……….
Woops. That’s tough when the leader is the first one hit on the first volley. I enjoyed this one.:)

I place that kind of device on the same pile as the one that allows you to venture into other people’s dreams.
Sometimes you don’t want to know…

Well AnElephant finds this chap’s last thoughts fascinating.
Other people’s dreams?
His own are scary enough!
