AnElephantCant really argue this point
He is something of a walking contradiction
He is delightfully sad
Or heart-breakingly glad
But this little tale is in fact purely fiction
This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.

Unchained Melody
She is the gate keeper of the bank.
The bank where, with much pain, he opened his accounts, transferring his financial life from Scotland to France.
She is an attractive lady of a certain age.
They walk out a few times, but she is not the one for him.
They part as friends.
Then, mysteriously, he has problems with his account.
His calls to his personal account supervisor and the branch manager go unreturned.
He goes to the bank.
He speaks nicely to her.
She smiles pleasantly.
No.
He pleads with her.
She smiles radiantly.
No.
An appointment?
How does March suit you?
It is urgent, he cannot pay his bills.
He faces eviction from his perfect apartment.
He begs, she acquiesces.
She promises an earlier date.
Confirms it by email the following day.
February 30th.
He is going to miss that perfect apartment… Great story.
