Dover Castle – Sunday Photo Fiction

AnElephantCant deny he is sometimes perhaps overly verbose
He likes to use an abundance even a myriad of words
But here is one more fact
He can get side-tracked
He discovers this is nonsense and he’s away with the birds

This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Which is not repeat not a pigeon!
Please click on the link to view a fulsome felicitation of feathery fables by fellow fantasisers.
But please first read AnElephant’s terrible twitterings.

Dover Castle

This is a great place to live if you are a crow.
Plenty of tourists dropping litter, good pickings there.
A quick swoop takes me out over the famous White Cliffs, wonderful thermals.
And I can have a little jaunt over to France, parler avec les corbeaux, very friendly guys.
My French is improving, although they say I have an awful accent, like Dougal in the Magic Roundabout.
But anyway, the view from up here is useful, I can see into the back of all the sea-front apartments.
Take that nice Mr Forbes at number 36, he has lots of interesting visitors, usually young ladies, but he had AnElephant once.
Go figure!
He has an American lady visiting just now, very pretty, or is that pithy?
Funny thing, I don’t often see them leaving, but then I am usually distracted by the foxes and rats.
They always seem to be digging up some tasty morsels in his back garden.
Yes, this is a great place to live, especially if you are a Carrion Crow.

HAHAHAHA Brilliant 😀 And how did you know about the garden? Surely you didn’t see it when you visited … I was sure I hid that from you.

    This is awesome 😀

Awwww….I haven’t been writing much so a friend told me to come visit AnElephant. I am very suspicious this was a clever way of killing me off….. 🙂 I really enjoyed!

Well! Mr. Forbes is quite the ladies man. It’s a good thing we Americans sent over our Agent to get an aerial view. We’ll have to keep an eye on that one. 😉

  7. I guess the police don’t listen to the bird. I hope all that flooding of late that Al wrote about won’t uncover his garden secrets.

Dover seems to be nice place for humans too, it certainly looks great. At least the crow follows what is on the sign, clever crow!
