colour of the wind

colour of the wind by anelephantcant

colour of the wind by anelephantcant

the waves leap the barrier crash onto the rocks
once more the Mediterranean sings
reminds him again of the love he has lost
the girl with eyes the colour of the wind

the tides ransack the beaches
the sands are strangely bare
sun glints on metallic water
the colour of the wind blowing through her hair

he thinks if he can write this song
she might hear the plaintive tune
and love him still but he is wrong
the girl with eyes the colour of the moon

the ships sink over the horizon
dark sea ends and light skies start
clouds disappear forever
blown by wind the colour of her heart

when they arrive in Avallon
she laughs and she abandons him
he lies down and he weeps there
for the girl with eyes the colour of the wind

he drives across the country
to find the one he still loves most
by the time they at last reach Roissy
the colours are of course already lost

  1. So sad. A love lost a struggle met with failure.
