AnElephantCant deny he’s a big chap
He stands nearly fifty feet tall
Okay that’s an exaggeration
Because to his consternation
He finds that he cannot see over Bjorn’s wall
Once again it is Friday Fictioneer time.
Master builder Rochelle takes steps to surround herself with stony-faced story-tellers of solid sagas.
And AnElephant is a small drain on resources.
The idea is to write a very short story, circa 100 words, based on this picture prompt (below).
That’s it.
The Wall
No one comes here now.
There are stories of dark happenings in the past.
Some long ago, the wall dates back to Roman times.
Some are more recent, there are rumours of bribery, betrayal and murder during the second ill-fated Jacobite rebellion.
And of ghosts who wander restlessly, seeking the next world in vain.
Which makes it the perfect place to bury a body.
Even in daylight, and little gets through to this gloomy spot, it has an eerie feel to it.
At night it is just terrifying.
It even scares me.
I wish they had buried me somewhere else.
Nice, spooky little tale, well done.

The ending really cinches the whole story, and it also leaves me with the feeling that someone is staring at me. :O

Dear AEC,
A ghost with feelings. Sheds an interesting light on the afterlife. Well done.

That would be a terrible existence, to be relegated to a place like that forever. Does he try to scare people as well?

Elephant, Good, creepy, well-written story.
I think I’ll also stay away from that place. Perhaps even that ghost will leave in time. Well done as always. Happy Holidays!! 🙂 — Suzanne
