AnElephantCant help feeling embarrassed
He sees something that puzzles him greatly
He has got no clue
He is surprised there are two
But he sees another object that is pink and unshapely
This is a weekly invitation to write a short piece of fiction (c. 150 words) based on a photo prompt (below) provided by Alastair.
Just click on the link to see a colourful collection of stories in response to this week’s excellent prompt.
But please first cast an eye over AnElephant’s confused contribution.
The Theft
You stole it?
Aye.
What is it?
Dunno.
So why?
Just liked it.
And what are you going to do with it?
Dunno.
You don’t know?
Maybe just look at it.
Not much else you can do with it, is there, if you don’t know what it is?
Suppose not.
Is it valuable?
Dunno.
Where did you steal it?
That jeweller’s shop in the High Street.
Which one?
The posh one.
The one with all the security cameras on the walls?
Aye, that one.
Do you know what all those cameras are for?
To stop people stealing stuff, I suppose.
And yet?
Aye.
So what are you going to do with it now?
Maybe just take it back.
You think?
Or just throw it away.
Go see who is banging at the door, it’s probably for you.
HI Ele 😀
Happy New Year!
LOL
A kleptomaniac perhaps?

Elephant, I would agree that the knocking is for him. He sounds like either a child, or like a child. I would guess he’s done this kind of thing before. He needs to be watched. Well done with good dialogue. 🙂 — Suzanne

Great dawning realization from the thief. I feel a bit bad for him, actually. It seems he really doesn’t get it. Funny stuff though.

Haha! Not an especially clever thief is he? You got me chuckling and smiling.

Perhaps he should take his statue and run out of the back door.

The object d’art does look like it could be a heart and a pawn chess piece.
And well I guess one could go other places too…
Fun little drama.
I did a verse this week:

I very much like your contribution, anelephantcan’t. You’ve created a truly amusing character here! There’s nothing like a bumbling criminal. 🙂
