still waiting

scotland in spring by anelephantcant

scotland in spring by anelephantcant

sometimes the darkness seeps in
troubles the calmest soul
I don’t know what the price is
but pain takes a certain toll

then restlessness invades me
always saying I should roam
but this attack is different
tells me now to think of home

for this has been a long trip
I scarce remember when it started
but I do recall the loving heart
that broke when I departed

winter on the Med has passed
I long for Scotland in the spring
small flowers pink on cherry trees
smiles to make an old heart sing

now of course the doubts set in
do I gamble my last chance
will her arms slip around my neck
and allow me one last dance

can I make my dream come true
or am I hallucinating
has she long ago forgotten me
or perhaps is she still waiting

very moving this poem. You have the right to dream and to hope, her love is again possible. I am touched by your words in this poem. Kisses my dear friend

Go on, say something, even if it's rude!
