i have you

i have you by anelephantcant

i have you by anelephantcant

you  are five thousand miles away
in the winter of the world
the seasons have no meaning when
I know that you’re my girl

warm days that last forever
cold nights that never end
I scarcely speak to anyone
I have no need of a friend
I have you

there are no arms to hold me
no lips for me to kiss
no smile to brighten dismal days
no one for me to miss
I have you

the moon and stars don’t shine now
the sun hides from the dawn
the low dark clouds are weeping
they all know that you are gone
I have you
no more

Dearest Elephant, you are a master of the “last line twist” (happy, happy, smiling, happy, falls off cliff). Well done with this one as always 🙂
