I miss her in the morning
slipping quietly from our bed
I miss her gentle touches
and the tender words she said
I miss her in the evening
when we’d relax and watch TV
I miss the pain I often felt
which she’d kiss away for me
I miss her in the night time
when I am cold and on my own
and all her warm affection
I miss now she is gone
I miss her in the winter
when the sky is overcast
snowflakes tumble to the ground
to hide the broken past
I miss her in my faint heart
which weeps forever in the dark
standing bare in solitude
a tree in an empty park
I miss her in the knowledge
she left because I am so flawed
alone now like a pebble
on a lonely beach untrod
That last line is very poignant and moving.

Beautiful images throughout but I find this one especially desolate and moving:
standing bare in solitude
a tree in an empty park
And I love the reading.

Dear Pinky,
Lovely, sweet and ever so tragic. Your voice adds a lot.

You think? I’m not overly sad….though occasionally may allow myself a moment!
