I dream

each night I dream of yesterday
when I was young and had no fear
not the day before the night I dream
but the yesterday when you were here

each night I dream of skies of blue
before the cold and wintry rain
I dream of long gone endless summers
and I dream that you might come again

each night I dream of rock n roll
and how your hips sway as you dance
I dream that you don’t walk away
I dream you give me one more chance

each night I dream of svelte mermaids
of soft waves and the dark green sea
I dream of paradise and golden sun
I dream you bathe in bliss with me

each night I dream of tales of yore
of brave knights and damsels distressed
I dream of Camelot and heroes bold
I dream it’s still me that you love best

each night I dream of ghosts of love
of days so short and oh so few
I dream of the time that flew so fast
and I dream of the ghost of you

So one the same. The speaker has so many beautiful memories of this person and wishes fervently for that “one more chance” but that too seems to be a wish like a ghost, not real anymore. He longs for the good of the past but I guess as they say hindsight is always 20/20. We can just make the best of what we have now, even though our hearts are chipped sand cracked. Again more hugs 🙂
