Le Canal des Deux Mers by AnElephantCant

Les Deux Mers

Les Deux Mers canal is magical
it slides through all of France
and one day outside Agen
I meet her quite by chance

I can see she is a foreigner
her clothes her walk her smile
I approach her with well chosen words
ask her to stay a while

she rejects me almost casually
she is a married woman
but he is gone for oh so long
and she is only human

so I court her relentlessly
use all my Gallic charms
until with a contented sigh
she relaxes in my arms

then quickly I abandon her
with her shattered world atilt
her husband is confused enraged
her face betrays her guilt

Les Deux Mers canal is magical
it slides through all of France
and
each day outside Agen
I
hunt for one more dance
