lost

azure coast by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

lost

you point up to a shooting star
say I should wish upon it
tell me I must honour you
with a poem or a sonnet

you laugh at my strange accent
say it sounds like I am lost
so I follow you from high white peaks
to the salty azure coast

I play this tune on my guitar
but the rhythm seems all wrong
my fingers bleed my voice breaks down
when I try to sing your song

an image on a postcard
a frozen waste a polar bear
you didn’t even sign it
just wrote wish you were there
