a foreign flag

a foreign flag by anelephantcant

Click here to hear the poet read his words:

a foreign flag

beside the water
hand in hand
under a lamppost
just a kiss
cold cold night
warm warm lips

wrapped in layers
in morning chill
a foreign flag
red leaf on white
through the market
less unsure

brown eyes shine
as waves caress
mermaids pause
beneath your pen
Atlantis charms
with masks and fans

in high tree-tops
the raven calls
across the ocean
I remember
the greatest hurt
you too forget
nothing
