Click here to hear the poet read his words:
home again
I stumble
through the front door
home again
after so long
it has been a difficult time
with illness
and other circumstances
but
I suppose
mostly
just life
doing what life
does best
and making it impossible
for me
to get here sooner
I look around
and see
all the familiar things
that I have seen
so often
in the past
nothing has changed
the only thing
missing
is you
but you’ll be back later
won’t you
when I’m asleep…
Interesting elephant pic to go along with the poem. Also, I like that at least the speaker will see her in his dreams. Hope you’re well CE.

Hi Amanda, great to see you here again.
Dreams are all that’s left, it seems.
I am well, thank you
