AnElephantCant believe you’d come back to him
Even if he wrote the perfect love song
But he tries to create one anyway
In the hope you do just to prove him wrong
He tries to express things in romantic words
Like Oor Rabbie and Will Shakespeare wrote
He wants to remind you of all the sweet things he said
Which he is sure you already forgot
He wishes he could sing like Orbison
No one touches your heart quite like Roy
So the rivers of pain that run down his face
Would transform into tears of pure joy
He could compose a magical musical treat
Like that Canon by Pachelbel
Perhaps then you’d forgive him at least some of his flaws
If he could just do one thing so well
Perhaps he could write a great melody
Or a truly magnificent symphony
But he still can’t believe you’d come back to him
Unless it was just out of sympathy
You are the only girl who makes his heart dance
The only lady who can float his boat
You are the one who appears in every song
The inspiration for every poem he ever wrote
Très beau. UnElephant sait jouer
sad indeed. and Phil’s artwork reflects the heartache
Thank you again for noticing the details.
It is always a joy to have you visit.
What a sad poem with a broken heart. It’s brilliant. Hope you are okay my friend
AnElephant is fine, thanks, Al, he just writes a wee poem occasionally!
Ohhh- I hope the one you speak of listens to your song & dances with you.
Alas, RoSy, that can never be.
Oh Sir elephant, your heart appears broken and such heartfelt sentiment, beautifully expressed
Appearances can be deceptive, dear chap, but thank you for very kind words.
