where are we
so where do you think we are my love
now that nothing is ever what it seems
do we smile share a kiss say goodbye walk away
or do we continue to believe in our dreams
do you really think we can go on as before
do you still feel the buzz and the chemistry
or do I disappoint as I predicted I would
when I promised magic so wrongly and shamelessly
do I let you down by being only me
is there something more I could have done
I realise I am able to drive you insane
I know that you want more than fun
it’s difficult when we lead such different lives
and when we have such divergent aims
but the plan always is to make me see sense
it is time to stop my juvenile games
I want to discover the answers you have
though it is clear that I don’t know the right question
I hoped you might tell me in spite of yourself
I thought for me you would make an exception
the end draws near and that decision awaits
we hold rainbows and dance on moonbeams
