These 4 pictures were taken within the space of 1 minute on Sunday afternoon, September 16th.
From almost exactly the same spot.
Our thanks to the incomparable Mark Twain for the Subject quote above.
AnElephantCant understand weather
In fact he struggles to spell that big word
But being sincere
In Scotland this year
The conditions have been quite absurd
When AnElephant was just a wee calf
Long long ago some people might say
Birds were in song
And summers were long
The sun shone twenty four hours each day
But now we have hailstorms and hurricanes
It seems the Gods have invoked a curse
Boreas brings the wind
Thor thunderous din
And Zeus with the rain makes it worse
These four pictures were snapped in one minute
Two days ago down by the Clyde
Do the Gods have their reasons
For four concurrent seasons
Or did the quartet atmospherically coincide?
AnElephantCant complain too loudly
He was a Springbok when he was a pup
For what it is worth
He fled to the north
Because the heat caused his bits to erupt
So now he lives happily in Scotland
With the lochs and the burns and the mist
But as he grows old
He does feel the cold
And would just love occasionally not to have to go abroad to be warm and sun-kissed
I have never been to Scotland but would love to start traveling the world once we have covered the US. I love photos of clouds so these photos were especially intriguing to me. I love your writing style; it always puts a smile on my face. 🙂

Last time I was in Scotland was in 1988 so I can’t say much, but my uncle and cousins have said that the weather is … wrong lol
Congratulations on Penny’s poetry challenge. That was a brilliant entry

It is wonderful that the weather can be predicted to such accuracy. But it seems I spend so much time reading about or listening or looking at weather forecasts.
My desktop has weather info. Get emails from friends………better cancel this or that because of the weather.
Nice pictures. 🙂

Beautiful photographs. An elephantcan’t imagine the weather and of course neither can I, but hold on to your hat, just think of that….I believe it is going to get better. Okay so maybe not as good as yours, just going for some cheerful thoughts, best to you today, Penny
